Restoration of A Framed Oval Photo

This restoration project was received mounted inside a wooden frame, under curved glass.

It is an historic picture of the Old Family Farm.

The photograph itself was glued to a mat was designed to shape the photograph to match the curvature of the glass.

The photograph was damaged due to pencil marks, stains, and a yellowed layer of shellac.

We consulted with the customer and decided to photograph the original from various angles,  still in the frame

The customer goal was to restore the image and print the restoration on an 11″ x 14″ sheet, under an oval mat, to be mounted in a large square frame.

The full restoration involved photographing the image from multiple directions, the creation of a new digital image, and processing the image with various digital tools.

Six prints were made and then matted, framed, and will be family gifts.
